In the shadow of the towering Kilimanjaro, the elephants engage in intense mating battles and emotional reunions, whilst suffering stillbirths and a variety of health problems. Heartbreaking footage details the struggles of baby Ely as, after being born crippled he tries to stand. The relief is palpable as finally, after much patient nursing by his mother, he recovers enough to walk unaided.
