Dassan: An Adventure in Search of Laughter Featuring Nature's Greatest Little Comedians  (1930)

A flip here, a flap there and a flop in between

A satire on manners, Dassan: An Adventure in Search of Laughter Featuring Nature's Greatest Little Comedians explores the humorous lives and habits of the island's jackass penguins.

Charting the time before their migration north, this 1930s production follows hugely popular naturalist Cherry Kearton as he explores a colony of these animated creatures. Revealing the funny side of nature's 'little comedians', infants are seen lining up for organised swimming lessons, as squabbles break out and adults perform their motionless 'kisses'.

An entertaining travelogue, Dassan: An Adventure in Search of Laughter Featuring Nature's Greatest Little Comedians brings to life the early 20th Century take on these charismatic little creatures.
