Bird Watching for Juniors
(1953)
An early membership film from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Bird Watching for Juniors was aimed at encouraging young people to join the Junior Bird Recorder’s Club.
The film encourages young people to stop egg collecting and instead observe the birds in their natural habitats and collect records of sightings. Founded in 1943, the Junior Bird Recorder’s club provided its members with news bulletins, species notes, essay writing competitions and the opportunity to attend residential field courses.
