The Polar Bear  (1983)

At one time the Polar bear was hunted almost to extinction but today it is at no great risk although not a great deal is known, for example, about its migration. The team making this film spent several months on an arctic island - one of the few places that female polar bears use to give birth to their cubs. The building of the island is such thatit offers the mother and her cubs maximum safety. The film shows the inside of one of the lairs and the youngs first encounter with the world outside.
