The Mysterious Bee  (1981)

Wildscreen

This is a personal documentary of the Honey bee by Phil Simon.  As a hobby, he kept them in his suburban garden and over a two year period he filmed the more unusual and mysterious aspects of bee behaviour.  Also recorded are the lifecycles of the three castes of bees in a colony and the overall life cycle of the colony itself.  Winner of a special award at the Wildscreen "Panda" awards ceremony, October 1982
