Pelicans at the Zoo  (1898)

Full film

An amusing account of feeding time at Regent’s Park Zoological Gardens, Pelicans at the Zoo was released in 1898 by British Mutoscope and Biograph Company, one of the pioneers of early cinema technology. As the birds are released from their enclosure, this short black and white film details the pandemonium unleashed, providing an engaging view of the ungainly scrambling of these enormous birds as they squabble over their dinner.
