Wildlife Safari to The Argentine: The Pampas  (1972)

Also known as: Episode 3

The expedition lives among the pampas animals immortalised in the writings of William Henry Hudson.  Here is Argentina's national bird, the rufous heronero (Furnarius rufus), with its mud oven nest; also the snail kite (Rostrhamus sociabilis) complete with winkle-picker bill, and the grand archaic ostrich of South America, called the rhea.  A night sortie reveals opossums and skinks, owls and armadillos.
