The Otters of Yellowstone  (1998)

Yellowstone - a wilderness wonderland and its charming inhabitants

An absorbing exploration of these charismatic carnivores, The Otters of Yellowstone follows a year of their intrepid lives in the lakes and pools of America's most famous National Park. This hour long programme provides a fascinating glimpse into the otters' adventurous lives, detailing their hunting behaviour and intriguing social interactions.

Described by the founder of Partridge Films, Mike Rosenberg as having "more staying power than anybody I've ever met", renowned wildlife producer Bob Landis spent hours patiently filming these agile animals in their natural habitat. Capturing impressive footage of them running, playing, sliding, fishing and raising families, memorable scenes also depict violent ambushes - as proficient fishermen, the otters are often victims of coyote 'muggings' particularly during the harsh winter months.

Beautifully filmed, with the backdrop of the park's spectacular scenery, The Otters of Yellowstone provides an unrivalled celebration of these charming creatures.
