Where fish stand in line: A cleaning station in the coral reef  (1983)

Wildscreen Film Entry, 1984

The muraena is disliked and feared by the fish that live in the coral reefs. But there is an exception because some shrimps and small fish are allowed to swim between the gills and the teeth of these feared predators without being gobbled up. The reason is that they perform a valuable service. They rid the muraenas of irritating skin parasites and the remains of food. Rolf Möeltgen has watched these small fish and shrimps at work in the coral reefs and has also carried out a few experiments. How do the fish react to a dummy? How sich do they become if their bodies are not regularly freed of parasites.
